China’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs has approved 340 feed and feed-additive products made by 160 companies, under Announcement No. 1081, dated October 27, 2026. The registrations cover first-time applications, renewals and changes to existing registrations. The Ministry also approved registration-certificate updates for 17 products following changes to product or company details.
The announcement’s most consequential development for feed formulators is the addition of 3-nitrooxypropan-1-ol (3-NOP) to China’s Catalogue of Feed Additive Varieties. Its authorized use is limited to lactating dairy cows. The Ministry says the decision followed review by the National Feed Evaluation Committee and product-quality testing. Related products may be imported or produced, marketed and used in China, subject to the applicable registration requirements.
The approved portfolio spans feed additives, premixes and feed materials for multiple sectors, including dairy and other ruminants, swine, poultry, aquaculture, companion animals, horses and birds. Listed products include vitamins, minerals, enzymes, microbial products, flavouring substances and protein ingredients. Manufacturers are based in a range of countries, including Germany, the United States, Switzerland, Singapore, Malaysia and Brazil.
For suppliers and importers, the announcement signals both expanded market access and the importance of maintaining accurate registration records. Product approvals are valid from October 2026 to November 2031, and products remain subject to Chinese national standards and Ministry quality requirements.
